Atherstone based Garner Canning Solicitors are looking forward to increased numbers in the 2018 Garner Canning Corporate Award

With 3M taking the shield in its inaugural year, we are anticipating more businesses entering teams into this years event thereby upping the anti for all comers.

Corporate teams must have a minimum of three members to qualify with no limit to the number of team members. The award is given to the team whose combined position total is the lowest.

Do you have at least three runners in your organisation? Are you looking to run the BA10k and have two colleagues who are runners too?

Why not get them signed up for the Garner Canning Corporate Award?

The team award is offered in addition to any personal awards achieved during the BA10k. How's that for a shelf filler?

We look forward to hearing from you.

Definition of 'Harrier' in English by Oxford Dictionaries:

posted 18 Apr 2018, 11:46 by healthandsafety BA10k

Harrier - a person who engages in persistent attacks on others or incursions into their land.

Does this explain why the Bournville Harriers have won the Most Represented Running Club at the BA10k for the last two years?

An en-mass incursion into Atherstone?

Calling all other running clubs. We need your help to defend our borders!

Could your club win this most sort after award by entering as many of your members as possible into our event on 26 August 2018?

Massey Ferguson RC and Daventry Road Runners are currently leading the way to taking the top spot this summer.

How about beating them to the podium?

We could go for one or two or maybe even for a few hundred!

Due to the kind generosity of our friends at local employer Aldi, that's how many will be at the finish line waiting for your collection.

In addition, Aldi are donating bottles of water to keep you going at both the mid point and for refreshment when you arrive at the end in Market Square.

Aldi are a major employer locally to our event and we are pleased to have their continued support enabling us to maximise funds raised for local charities.

The BA10k remains a not for profit operation run entirely by volunteers.

26 August 2018. Why not come and join us. Bananas provided for very participant.

It's all about the bling or is it?

posted 8 Apr 2018, 08:27 by healthandsafety BA10k

Some of us may be more inclined towards considering a new technical T shirt.

Especially with temperatures rising and buds appearing on the trees, updating ones summer wardrobe might be a higher priority than a lump of metal. (Other medal materials are available).

When we talk about our wardrobe we do mean running wardrobe of course (as if there is any other).

What colours are in this year?

This is a question pondered each year down here at BA10k HQ.

Out shopping for a few hundred new T shirts and we cannot agree on what colour we should all be wearing this summer.

What colour does it for you and why?

Answers on a postcard. That is if there is such a thing as postcards anymore. They used to be in the paper tidy next to the fax machine, underneath the orange internal mail envelopes.

Come on, give us a clue. What's your preference?

The BADGERS Atherstone 10k's nominated charity for 2018 will be Mary Ann Evans Hospice.

The charity is based in Nuneaton, and supports patients and their families, both young and old, as they learn to live with their illness - every penny raised helps in their vital and important work. We are really looking forward to working with the team there over the months to come.

The Mary Ann Evans Hospice offers a warm and welcoming home from home environment, enhancing the quality of life for people who have life limiting conditions such as Cancer, Heart Failure and Motor Neurone Disease, and who live in the Nuneaton, Bedworth and North Warwickshire areas.

The Day Hospice provides care and support for up to 15 patients and their families. For those preferring care in their own homes the charity also offer a Hospice at Home Service; taking dedicated care and support into the heart of the community.

In addition to the hospice services, the charity also provide Lymphoedema Care, Bereavement Services, Chaplaincy/Spiritual Care and Complementary Therapies.

For further information on the fantastic support provided to our local community please check out their website on

We are extremely proud to announce that the 5th BADGERS Atherstone 10k will be sponsored by TNT UK.

Being a large local employer, TNT UK have sponsored our event since the very start and we welcome their continued support.

With rising costs to host an event, the sponsorship helps us host a first class event for you, our participants, including closing local roads for your safety and providing you with an event technical t-shirt and bespoke medal for your efforts to name but a few costs.

This sponsorship means more of your entry fee goes to charity as our event also raises much needed funds for community groups and our nominated charities, Mary Ann Evans Hospice and Wooden Spoon.

We look forward to working with TNT UK to bring you another fantastic event.

Entries are open and filling fast so don't wait - enter today!
